Abstract

Sam, the older brother of Nephi in the Book of Mormon, is not extensively described, but he played a significant role in the family's journey. He experienced the same challenges and adventures as his family, showing faith and courage in following Nephi. While specific details about Sam are limited, we know that he remained loyal to Nephi despite pressure from their older brothers, Laman and Lemuel. Sam made righteous choices early on and shared a special bond of trust with Nephi. Lehi expressed joy and blessed Sam, promising him and his descendants blessings and inheritance. Sam and his family chose to follow Nephi when they were warned to flee from their wicked brothers. Overall, Sam is portrayed as a just and holy man deserving of appreciation and remembrance.
