John Thompson
John S. Thompson serves at Scripture Central. He brings over 25 years of experience working full-time for the Church’s Seminaries and Institutes of Religion, most recently serving as the Coordinator and Institute Director for the Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts area. An accomplished scholar, his extensive research focuses on early Egyptian religion, ancient and modern temple rituals, covenant theology, and the Book of Abraham. John holds a Ph.D. in Egyptology from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and a master's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, both in Ancient Near Eastern studies.
John lives in Utah Valley with his wife, Stacey. Together, they are the parents of nine children.
