Abstract
"I beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy" (1 Nephi 8:10). Since the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, artists have been tried again and again to depict that image: Representations of the Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life are shown in the issue of BYU Studies. Also in this issue, BYU scientists talk about research involving an unusual molecule, 18-crown-6, that has the ability to remove toxic heavy metals from water. Ronald Walker, in "Native Women on the Utah Frontier," paints an intriguing portrait of what early Native American culture was like in Utah. Bernard S. Jackson looks at the legality of Jesus' trial in "The Trials of Jesus and Jeremiah."
