Abstract
Summary The books of Enos, Jarom, Omni, and Words of Mormon are discussed, highlighting their historical context and the transition between the small plates and Mormon's larger record. Enos's powerful experience with prayer and his desire for the welfare of the Nephites and Lamanites is outlined, along with his role as a prophet and record keeper. Jarom's narrative provides a fast-paced overview of Nephite history, emphasizing the longevity of their leaders and righteousness of the people. The book of Omni introduces significant historical developments, including the departure of Mosiah and his followers to Zarahemla and the merging with the Mulekites. The Words of Mormon serve as a bridge between the small plates and Mormon's abridged record, explaining why he included the small plates and introducing King Benjamin. Dig Deeper John W.
