Abstract
For generations the Jaredites were trapped in the land Northward, cut off from the thriving wilderness to the south. The Lord had cursed the people for their wickedness and hedged up the way with poisonous serpents. But in the days of Lib, the serpents were destroyed and the south wilderness was made a preserve for hunting food for the people. The Jaredites were extremely prosperous in the days of Lib. They built cities, worked metals with fine work, made wonderful fabrics, tools to sow and reap, and weapons for protection. "Never could be a people more blessed than were they, and more prospered by the hand of the Lord."
