Scripture Central is pleased to cosponsor an upcoming, free conference in conjunction with BYU Studies and the BYU New Testament Commentary Group.

This conference will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Harold B. Lee Library Reynolds Auditorium on BYU campus. It will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run until approximately 4:00 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Elder Tad R. Callister, who will begin the conference with his remarks entitled “‘Becoming One in Thine Hand’: The New Testament and the Book of Mormon.”

Following Elder Callister’s address, speakers will address the two latest publications in the New Testament commentary project, including S. Kent Brown’s commentary on the Epistle to the Ephesians and Brent J. Schmidt’s supplementary volumes exploring how early Christians would have understood concepts of faith and grace.

Additionally, presentations will discuss future publications in the New Testament Commentary project. These remarks will include discussions on the soon-to-be-published Introductory volume by Joshua Matson and the commentary on 2 Corinthians authored by Richard D. Draper and Michael D. Rhodes, who had previously published the commentary on 1 Corinthians, Hebrews, and Revelation. Other publications slated for a later date, including the commentaries on Matthew, Acts, Romans, and James, will also be discussed. Contributors to these volumes will include John W. Welch, Andrew C. Skinner, Brent J. Schmidt, Tom Roberts, and John Gee.

No registration is required for this conference. The full schedule can be found online at the New Testament Commentary website. While the conference will not be livestreamed, each presentation will be recorded and made available online after the conference.
