Abstract

Hughes relates an account of her daughter becoming friends with a new girl in the school. This friend's parents were sick and dying, but when her daughter ask Hughes about helping the family, she pushes it aside thinking it was an exaggeration. Soon after, both parents passed away, and Hughes told her daughter that she could help, but it was too late. Hughes quotes King Benjamin in Mosiah 2:17 and teaches that readers should not withhold service.
