Abstract

Elder Eyring examines the scriptural usage of the term “always” and concludes that it is used in two settings. The first is in a covenantal sense as seen in the sacrament prayers, the second is in Christ’s command to “pray always” (3 Nephi 18:18). He recognizes that always doing these things is difficult since the enemy is constantly trying to destroy the saints (2 Nephi 2:27). He uses multiple verses in the Book of Mormon to encourage the saints to keep their covenants and pray always (Alma 39;19-27; Helaman 14:3-4; 3 Nephi 1:14-15; Moroni 7:47-48, 10:23).
