Abstract

Submitted to the 2021 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest.

One of the most inspirational parts of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the First Vision. Our family visited the Sacred Grove and the reconstructed home of the Prophet in the fall of 2019, and I have wanted to put together a painting ever since, hoping to bring a small portion of the inspiration we found there to the viewer. Our family walked the grounds and prayed among the trees behind the home, and each of us felt a sweet peace and realized that it is indeed a sacred grove.

The artist is an architect that lives and works in Utah with his amazing wife and six kids. He has been drawing and painting since his very early childhood and often seeks the peace and inspiration that comes with sharing this gift with other people.
