Abstract
This piece received an Honorable Mention in the 2019 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest.
The headdress/headplate is based on the La Mojarra Stela 1, mid 2nd century AD. A depiction of an elite carrying what appears a weapon. It is close to era, and has features shared with earlier in era iconography. From the book 'Teancum: An Illustrated Screenplay."
