Petra M.W.S. Chou is a homemaker and adjunct faculty at BYU–Hawaii, and she has taught for the Laie Elementary in Hawaii and in the Chinese Immersion program for the Alpine School District in Utah. She received her BS in Social Work from BYU, her MEd in instructional design from Western Governors University, and her PhD in Education from Utah State University. She has served in a variety of church callings including service as a counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, branch primary president, temple ordinance worker, early morning seminary and institute teacher, full-time missionary in the Hong Kong Mission, and member of the Seminary & Institutes (S&I) Research Committee at Church headquarters. She has presented at various venues and co-published several articles in the Ensign, Liahona, Latter-day Saints Historical Studies (formerly Mormon Historical Studies), BYU Sidney Sperry Symposium, as well as books through BYU RSC and Deseret Books entitled Voice of the Saints in Taiwan and Voice of the Saints in Mongolia. She is married to Po Nien (Felipe) Chou and they have four children.
