“And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”
2 Nephi 21:12

In the summer of 1829, a man named Thomas B. Marsh received a prompting that he should travel nearly 400 miles from Boston, Massachusetts, to upstate New York, not knowing what he would find there. Thomas stayed in western New York for three months to no avail. On his way home, someone he was staying with mentioned a “Golden Book” found by a young man named Joseph Smith. Thomas went to Palmyra, as the woman directed, and arrived at Grandin’s printshop just in time to get a fresh copy of the first sixteen pages of the Book of Mormon.
