Israel's Exodus as Temple Journey
Heaven's Code: Temples and Texts | Episode 10 | 17 min
The entirety of Israel's Exodus, from Egypt to the Promised Land, can be viewed as prefiguring the temple and reflecting the soul's journey to God in the divine plan. The initial path from Egypt to Sinai as recorded in the Book of Exodus is best understood as the journey through the courtyard of the temple. The secondary path from Sinai to the Promised Land as recorded in the Book of Numbers is best understood as the journey of holiness inside the temple. This video focuses on the first journey as recorded in the Book of Exodus and a future episode will focus on the second journey in the Book of Numbers. These two paths of the temple complex are governed by two differing priestly orders (the priest and high priest) and two differing laws: the laws of the courtyard and the laws of holiness that the Book of Leviticus outlines. In fact, one can view the entire Pentateuch or five Books of Moses as an outline of the journey out of the temple and then back in again, which will be demonstrated through this and subsequent videos.
