Why does the Book of Mormon refer to the “land of Jerusalem”?

Some early readers of the Book of Mormon considered the phrase to be an error since Jerusalem was a city and the phrase “land of Jerusalem” is not found in the Bible. The phrase, however, is found in documents discovered long after the Book of Mormon was published. Such as the Amarna Letters and the Dead Sea Scrolls. These discoveries show that the phrase, once considered a problem, is actually evidence of the historical authenticity of the Book of Mormon.
