Jorge Cocco's I Saw Another Angel Fly

We hope to bring Book of Mormon art to the forefront at this conference by featuring never-before-seen works, as well as Book of Mormon classics. Our art gallery will center around the 3 winning pieces of this year's Art Contest. Aside from this year's winners, we will feature art contest submissions from previous years, artwork of Joseph Brickey, Jorge Cocco, James Fullmer, and more.

Lehi's Bedouin Tent

Bedouin Tent
Bedouin Tent

Have you ever wondered what it meant when the Book of Mormon said that Lehi "dwelt in a tent" (1 Nephi 2:15)? At this year's Book of Mormon conference you can find out, by exploring a reproduction of an authentic, Arabian, Bedouin tent. Many researchers believe that Lehi may have lived in a tent like those of the ancient Bedouins. This full-scale reproduction can be explored in the vendor area of the 2nd floor of the Utah Valley Convention Center

Grandin Printing Museum

E.B. Grandin Printing Press
E.B. Grandin Printing Press

The Book of Mormon was first published at E.B. Grandin's Printing Press in Palmyra, New York. The Grandin Printing Museum is bringing their exhibit to BMC's conference to demonstrate how the Book of Mormon would have originally been printed. Included in the display will be a full-scale replica of the press used to print the Book of Mormon, along with replicas of the plates, the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon, and the supplies needed to operate a 19th century printing press.

Ancient Roman Plates

Ancient Roman Plates

Did you know that other ancient people wrote on metal plates? BYU Special Collections has allowed Book of Mormon Central to host their ancient Roman plates to put on display for the attendees of this year's conference. These plates are from an ancient Roman military diploma and dates to AD 109.

Replica Artifacts

Metallurgist David Baird has agreed to bring his collection of Book of Mormon replicas to put on display. A replica of the gold plates, the Urim and Thummim, the Breastplate, the wooden chest that held the plates, the Liahona, and Laban's sword will be on display at the BMC Conference. David Baird has not only done work on metallurgy, but has also done extensive research on the dimensions and specifications of these objects to create historically accurate replicas.
