Let Me Emphasize . . . Jack Welch's Inspirations and Insights from The Book of Mormon

Those who, like me, are rapt listeners of the podcast Book of Mormon Matters, hosted by John W. Welch and Lynne Wilson, couldn’t be happier with the publication earlier this year of Welch’s Inspirations and Insights from the Book of Mormon.
As a 20-year-old missionary in Germany, Welch was the first to notice that the Book of Mormon teemed with an ancient literary style called chiasmus—a poetic device previously found mainly in ancient Near Eastern texts, particularly the Old Testament. Chiasmus is felt by some to be the greatest scholarly evidence ever identified for demonstrating the authenticity of the Book of Mormon.
Insights and Inspirations from the Book of Mormon was designed as a handy study guide that closely follows the Come, Follow Me curriculum produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It represents many of Welch’s most insightful observations and discoveries from an academic career spanning five decades.
Welch is a living treasure in the field of Book of Mormon scholarship. As he demonstrates with every episode of this podcast, his teaching is, above all, approachable. Welch has a gift for presenting new and obscure information in a way that makes it easy to grasp, eminently profound, and ever applicable to our daily lives as we strive to follow the Savior. This book will continue to be a key part of my weekly studies for Come, Follow Me, Sunday School, Family Home Evenings, and upbuilding personal uses of all kinds.
