The Instructor

The Instructor was an official periodical of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as the primary publication for the Church's Sunday School organization from 1930 to 1970. It succeeded the Juvenile Instructor, which had been the official Sunday School magazine since 1901. The transition to The Instructor marked a continued commitment to providing educational and doctrinal content tailored to the needs of the Church's youth and young adult members. The Instructor offered a range of articles on teaching methods and gospel subjects. Its content was designed to support the instructional efforts of Sunday School teachers and to enhance the spiritual education of the LDS community. In 1970, The Instructor ceased publication. The following year, the LDS Church introduced the New Era magazine for youth and the Ensign magazine for adults, continuing the mission of providing faith-promoting content to its members. The entries on the Scripture Central Library are a selection of articles from the publication, and do not constitute the whole.
