Abstract

One may gain more from reading the Book of Mormon by placing one’s self in the situation of some person in the book. For example, fathers might personally relate to the patriarch Lehi by reading the history of his life as presented in the Book of Mormon. Mothers may gain much by demonstrating empathy with mother Sariah, and righteous sons can identify with Nephi. In this manner one might better understand some of the principles illustrated by the various stories in the Book of Mormon.
