Abstract

The main message of the Book of Mormon, as defined in the Doctrine and Covenants, is directed to our day, “Beware of pride, lest ye become as the Nephites of old” (D&C 38:39). President Benson defines pride as enmity with God and our fellow men. It is basically competitive, rebellious, and selfish.
