In this issue, Richard Bennett explores why Wilford Woodruff was willing to end plural marriage after defending it for so long: Bennett sees the rise of temple sealing ordinances as a major cause. Next, Samuel Brown studies adoption theology—how spirits are saved, or adopted into the family of God, and progress through eternity. Then Robert Schwartz uses game theory, specifically the strategy of the Prisoner's Dilemma, as a lens to events in the Book of Mormon. Two articles on BYU's mission explore a scholar's vocation (by John Rosenberg) and the new Education in Zion Gallery (by Heather Seferovich). Val Brinkerhoff focuses on beehives in Mormon symbolism through his photography. Darin Gates explains why ethical egoism, or the understanding that we ought to act only in our long-term interest, is not completely compatible with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Stephen Webb writes on Mormon Ecumenicism as a providential ripening of Joseph Smith's prophetic vocation. Finally, two poems and three book reviews appear in this issue.
