Abstract

SUMMARY John (Jack) W. Welch and Lynne Hilton Wilson engage in a comprehensive conversation about the Book of Mormon's introduction, title page, and translation process. Discussion includes the significance of the Book of Mormon, translation details, historical context, and Moroni's visits to Joseph Smith. They explore the role of Emma Smith, the loss of the 116 pages, and the contributions of Oliver Cowdery to the translation process. The poetic structure and purpose of the title page are analyzed, along with the concept of the spirit of prophecy and revelation. Mary Whitmer's experience with Moroni and her role as an early witness to the Book of Mormon plates is recounted.
