Abstract
King Benjamin exhorted his people to first believe in God’s existence, and then to believe in his divine wisdom, power, knowledge, and status as the creator of the world. Once these core beliefs about God are in place, it naturally follows that mankind should repent of their sins, humble themselves before God, and sincerely ask for forgiveness. Benjamin's inspiring plea suggests that faith in God usually precedes actions to follow him.
