Abstract
Nephi’s statement clearly shows that his words are meant to point readers to Jesus Christ. He even goes so far as to exhort readers to believe in Christ even if they don’t accept Nephi’s words. This teaching nicely captures the essence of the Book of Mormon as a whole. Its main purpose is not simply to validate itself, but to validate the reality and divinity of Jesus Christ. Those who accept the Book of Mormon’s teachings will naturally believe that Jesus is the Savior of the world.
