Abstract

Honorable Mention in the 2021 Book of Mormon Central Art Contest.

The Pioneer Woman is a symbol of strength and faith. She strives to exercise her faith in God and works all the day long to bring forth his work. Her lot is not an easy one. In this piece, we can see the woman harvesting blessings, not only from the ground, but also from the heavens.

Blessings pour from up above as well as the ground below, not riches, not gold, but that which sustains life and brings sweetness to the living. She exercises faith in God, even when crops fail and things go wrong and is rewarded with the blessings of heaven.

The piece measures 18" wide by 30" tall. It comes with a ring at each of the two top corners for hanging.

I have been creating stained glass windows since 1983. My husband and I have a home studio where I teach classes and build custom windows for homes and businesses. The story of the design is told with the colors and textures of glass. Combined with light and design the creation comes to life. I have been in numerous shows and galleries in the community featuring windows to encourage the appreciation of art glass.
