Abstract
The son of King Benjamin and a great prophet and seer. He sent the team that rescued those in the land of Nephi-Lehi (Limhi and his people). When Limhi and his people return to Zarahemla, Mosiah is shown the 24 gold plates that had been found by them and translates them through a Urim and Thummim revealing that they were written by Ether and contained the record of his people the Jaredites. Mosiah placed Alma in charge of the church and, by law, forbids persecution of believers. Because all of his sons (Ammon, Aaron, Omner and Himni) refused to be king (they were too busy being missionaries), Mosiah created a system of Judges and for the first time the people elect their leaders. Mosiah is therefore the last Nephite king and after him began the "reign of the judges".Mosiah
