Abstract

Laman was a former servant of the Lamanite king and was framed for the king's murder by Amalickiah. He fled to the Nephites and settled with the people of Ammon (the converted Lamanites of King Lamoni's people). Later he reappeared as a soldier in Captain Moroni's army and is instrumental in allowing Moroni to free all the Nephite prisoners in the city of Gid without the shedding of blood.
