Abstract
In 2 Nephi chapter 3 Lehi tells his son Joseph that they are descendants of Joseph who was carried captive into Egypt. Jospeh in Egypt saw the Nephites in vision and also prophesied of Joseph Smith Jr. "For Joseph truly testified, saying: A seer shall the Lord my God raise up, who shall be a choice seer unto the fruit of my loins...And his name shall be called after me; and it shall be after the name of his father. And he shall be like unto me; for the thing, which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand, by the power of the Lord shall bring my people unto salvation." 2 Nephi 3: 6,15
This composition is based on a triangle where everyone is focused on the newborn Joseph Smith Jr. who is being held in the loving arms of his father Joseph Smith Sr. The cross in the window over the baby's head and the light coming in through the window represent the Savior, and that Joseph Smith Jr. would be instrumental in bringing forth another testament of Jesus Christ.
