Abstract

2 Nephi 10 is an explanation of some of the words of Isaiah which concern America. This image is meant to reflect and symbolic language favored by the prophet. The King and Queen represent Kings and Queens of the countries which fed into Colonial America. Their colors and lighting allow them to blend into the background. Their mantles all but fade into the banner carried by a young girl representing America. Her race, age and gender show that America is to be a land of liberty for all. Her lack of a crown shows that no king will reign. The backward glance shows the importance of respecting the past.
