The Lord | “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; 2When you pass through the waters, I am with you; When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, 3For I am the LORD, your God, I give Egypt for your ransom[1], 4Because you are precious in My eyes, I give a human in return for you, 5Fear not, for I am with you. 6I will say to the north, “Give up,” Bring my sons from afar 7All who are called by My name, I fashioned them, |
Isaiah | 8Bring forth a blind people who have eyes, 9Let all nations gather together, Who among them will declare this Let them bring their witnesses to prove them right, |
Witnesses | “It is truth.” |
The Lord | 10“You are My witnesses,” |

The Lord | “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and trust in Me there was no god formed before Me, 11I, I am the LORD, 12I have declared, and I have proclaimed—and there is no strange god among you— |

The Lord | 13“Yea, before the day was, I am He; there is none that can deliver from My hand; I act, and who will reverse it?” |
Isaiah | 14Thus says the LORD, |
The Lord | “For your sake I send to Babylon, 15I am the LORD, your Holy One, |
Isaiah | 16Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea 17who brings forth chariot and horse, They lie down; they cannot rise. |
The Lord | 18“Do not remember the former things 19Behold, I am doing a new thing; Also, I will make a way in the wilderness, 20The beast of the field will honor Me, for I give water in the wilderness, 21I have fashioned this people for Me; |
The Lord | 22“But you did not call upon Me, O Jacob, 23You have not brought sheep for your burnt offerings to Me, I have not burdened you with an offering, 24You have not bought Me cane with silver, but you have burdened Me with your sins; 25I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My sake, 26Put Me in remembrance. Let us plead together. 27Your first father sinned, 28So I profaned the officers of the sanctuary; |
[1] “Ransom” (Hebrew kofer) can also be translated “redemption payment.” The Lord pays a ransom or redemption payment to free Israel from the nations, just as He freed ancient Israel from the dominance of Egypt, but instead of money, He exchanges three countries—Egypt, Cush, and Seba—for Israel.
[2] DSS Isaiah reads “paths” rather than “rivers.”
