Early life
Born on April 23, 1967, in Provo, Utah, to Fred A. and Sherrel Rowe, Edward B. Rowe was raised in a home where the gospel was the central focus. He served a full-time mission in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission.1
Elder Rowe pursued an extensive education, beginning with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Brigham Young University. He later earned both a Master’s degree in Public Policy and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Chicago.2 While at BYU, he married his high school sweetheart, Brooke Francis, in the Salt Lake Temple in 1989. They are the parents of five children.3
Professional Career
Elder Rowe’s professional career was centered on international law. He served as a partner in various law firms in Washington, D.C., and internationally, often moving his family to developing or war-stricken areas to settle international disputes and represent foreign governments.4
Since 2019, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Stirling Foundation, a private charitable organization focused on humanitarian efforts and strengthening families globally.5
Teachings
During a November 4, 2025 devotional at Brigham Young University, Elder Rowe taught of Jesus Christ as our Rock and an anchor.
"I invite you to strive to develop unshaken trust in and love for Jesus Christ. If you live your covenants as best you can, keeping His commandments and repenting as often as needed, you will come to know Him. Your confidence will be born of the Spirit—and it will grow. These are His promises to you! Anchor yourself to Him."6
